Conwy Quay
Lower Gate St, Conwy, Wales
Situated along the North Wales coast, Conwy Quay serves as a popular spot for sightseeing with attractions such as the Smallest House in Great Britain, the Conwy Mussel Museum, and a RNLI Lifeboat Station. After taking in the scenic views along the water, be sure to grab a pint at Liverpool Arms, Conwy’s oldest traditional pub.
The basics
Join a Conwy guided tour that includes a visit to the quay to learn about the tides, as well as the fishing boats that dot the water. You can also hop aboard a cruise to take in views along the Conwy River, or head out to Anglesey, Puffin Island, and the Irish Sea. The quay boasts plenty of pubs and eateries, where you dine on fish and chips and other Welsh fare.
Things to know before you go
Buy Conwy mussels at the harbor during the winter months, from September to April.
The quayside is located along the Wales Coast Path’s Two Marina Walk.
The quay is a popular spot for locals, especially on summer evenings.
How to get there

The North Wales Coast Railway connects Conwy to major cities, including Manchester, Liverpool, and Chester.
When to get there
The Conwy Quay hosts events throughout the year, such as the Conwy Pirate Festival. In July, the Conwy River Festival celebrates the town’s river estuary with water-based activities and shoreside entertainment. Overall, the best time to visit Conwy is from June through September, when the weather is typically most pleasant.
The Smallest House in Great Britain
One of the most popular attractions in Conwy is the Smallest House in Great Britain, found along the quayside. Even though it’s a tiny structure, its bright red facade makes it hard to miss. It has only one room downstairs and one upstairs and the property was declared not fit for human habitation in 1900, but visitors can still take a look inside.
