POINT OF INTEREST

Crocky Trail

Guy Lane, Waverton, Chester, Cheshire, CH3 7PH

For a day of outdoor fun, head over to Crocky Trail adventure park. Tackle the rough-and-tumble trail itself—complete with rope bridges, stepping stones, sandpits, and swings—or stick to the playground rides before enjoying a picnic or snack from the on-site shop.

The Basics

Crocky Trail is divided into two sections: the trail and the rides. Take on the trail at your own pace, branching off down easier paths if the tree-climbing and river-crossing don’t appeal. Or, complete the entire trail for a challenging couple of hours. In the theme park, kids will love the slides, while adults may prefer to relax on the benches. Either way, buy your admission tickets in advance to save time at the entrance.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Crocky Trail visits generally last around four hours, if you both walk the trail and spend time in the playground.

  • Children under age 5 enter free; however, they have limited access to the rides due to safety restrictions.

  • Skip open-toed shoes, and take a change of clothing on cold and wet days—the trail can be muddy.

  • Dogs on leash are allowed.

  • Crocky Trail is best suited to visitors with full mobility, due to uneven and often muddy walkways.

When to Get There

Crocky Trail is usually open daily from 10am to 5pm between late March and October, although extreme weather can cause last-minute closures. Last admission to the site is typically at 3pm.
