How to Get There
The museum is located in Chamarel in southwest Mauritius, just opposite the entrance to the Seven Colored Earth. Buses run to Chamarel from the neighboring towns; the museum is easy to find along the main road. Parking is also available.
When to Get There
The museum is open daily from morning to late afternoon. The small museum can get busy on weekends, especially in peak season, so make an early start to beat the crowds and avoid waiting for the interactive exhibits and photo ops.

After a brain-boggling visit to the Curious Corner, head to the Chamarel Waterfall for a swim beneath one of the island’s most striking natural wonders; take a hike or Jeep safari through the Ebony Forest Reserve; and visit the magnificent Seven Colored Earth. Finish it off with a rum tasting at the Rhumerie de Chamarel distillery.
