POINT OF INTEREST

Disneyland® Park

Boulevard de Parc, Coupvray, Île-de-France, 77700

One of two theme parks that comprise the larger Disneyland® Paris resort (alongside Walt Disney Studios® Park), Disneyland® Park is full of classic Disney attractions, rides, characters, and entertainment. A popular, family-friendly destination since 1992, the amusement park boasts five different themed areas for visitors to discover.

The basics

Among the largest and most-visited theme parks in Europe, Disneyland® Park—one of the two parks that make up the Disneyland® Paris resort, just east of the city—is an enchanting destination for visitors of all ages. Across its five themed areas (including Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Discoveryland), visitors will discover a wide range of thrilling rides and family-friendly attractions, have meet-and-greets with beloved Disney characters, and admire the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. A number of themed hotels are also located at the resort for those who wish to stay on-site, and Disney Village—the resort’s “entertainment quarter”—is free to enter year-round. It features live events, film screenings, and even hot-air-balloon rides.

Be sure to book your tickets to the park well in advance to guarantee entry. You can also book a range of day trips from Paris, as well as convenient transfer services.

Things to know before you go

  • Much of the park is accessible to disabled visitors, though some rides and activities do have restrictions on access.
  • For a particularly festive experience, consider visiting the park in October for the Disney Halloween Festival, or from mid-November to early January for its Disney Enchanted Christmas event.
  • Dozens of souvenir shops and restaurants, from fast-casual eateries to sit-down restaurants, are scattered across the resort.
  • Visitors can purchase Disney Premier Access for skip-the-line benefits, and a dedicated smartphone app makes exploring easier.

How to get there

Disneyland® Paris is located in Marne-la-Vallée, some 27 miles (43 kilometers) east of Paris. If you’re driving, take the A4; it’s typically less than 1 hour away. If using public transportation, take the RER A straight from Gare de Lyon in central Paris to the dedicated Disneyland® Paris stop.

When to get there

Disneyland® Park is open daily, from morning until evening. Note that hours can vary throughout the year, and that paid early access (Extra Magic Time) is also offered. Disneyland® Park is likely to be most crowded during the summer, holidays, and school vacations, and even season pass holders may need to register their dates in advance; consider visiting at different times of year for calmer experiences.

Walt Disney Studios® Park

The other park that comprises Disneyland® Paris, Walt Disney Studios® Park offers visitors straight-from-the-movies thrills. Its themed areas include Worlds of Pixar, the Marvel Avengers Campus, Toon Studio, Production Courtyard, and the Front Lot, and its rides and activities range from a Ratatouille-themed adventure to a Cars road-trip experience.
