In the heart of the Casablanca wine country, Estancia El Cuadro is a winery, event center, and getaway all rolled into one. You can come for a wine tour, dine on Chilean fare at the restaurant, or simply roam the walking trails that surround the property.
The basics
Estancia El Cuadro offers two types of wine-tasting tours: the Wine and Traditions Tour and the Wine Tour with History offering. Lasting about 2 hours, the Wines and Traditions Tour includes a carriage ride through the vineyard, a guided tour through the on-site wine museum, and wine tastings with a cheese board. The shorter Wine Tour with History runs in the afternoon and includes wine, cheese, and a wine-museum visit, but skips the carriage ride; it lasts about 1 hour.

A range of Casablanca Valley wines are available for sale at the wine shop.
There are two rental houses at the property for overnight stays, each with a kitchen, a bathroom, and three bedrooms.
Estancia el Cuadro is not easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Cell phone service can be spotty at the property.
How to get there
Estancia El Cuadro is located about a 70-minute drive west of Santiago or a 50-minute drive southeast of Valparaiso in the heart of Chile's Casablanca region; it’s best to either rent a car or join a tour. The latter option is usually wiser, as it will allow you to sample the wines without having to worry about driving after.
When to get there
Estancia El Cuadro is open Tuesday through Sunday from morning until early evening. The Wine and Traditions Tour starts late morning, while the Wine Tour with History runs in the afternoon. Note that the winery has been known to close for an extended break in the wintery month of July, so make sure to check the website for up-to-date opening hours.
Concha y Toro Winery
About an 80-minute drive southeast of Estancio El Cuadro, on the outskirts of Santiago, Concha y Toro Winery is a great spot to consider if you’re short on time but want to still have the Chilean wine-tasting experience. This massive producer, which has been in operation since 1883, offers guided vineyard tours and tastings, plus a wine bar serving up cheese and tapas.
