The basics

Hastings Street runs parallel to the Noosa Heads Main Beach and leads into the expansive Noosa Spit Recreation Reserve. Start your walk at the roundabout where Hastings Street, Park Road, and Morwong Drive meet and head west. Along the way, grab coffee at Tanglewood Bakery (you can relax at their coffee counter overlooking the street or sip as you walk).

Hastings Street highlights include Little Cove Collective, which features handmade work from local craftspeople, Alterior Motif where you can step out of your fashion comfort zone and into unique pieces, and the Village Bookshop where you can pick up the perfect beach read.

Things to know before you go

• Wear comfortable walking shoes if you decide to keep going through the wooded area at the end of the street.

• Bring shopping bags as you’re sure to find something special along the way.

• Pack your swimsuit so you can head to the beach afterward.

How to get there

Noosa Heads is small and walkable, and there are plenty of pretty spots to cycle. Hastings Street is on the strip of land that leads into Noosa Spit and is surrounded by hotels, hostels, and B&Bs. If you’re staying in Noosa Heads, you’re likely within a 10-minute walk of Hastings Street.

When to get there

Hastings Street is busy all day. Early birds head there for their morning coffee, and restaurants and cafés start to fill up for lazy brunches around mid-morning. Weekends are especially busy, so aim for a weekday if you want to guarantee a table for breakfast and dinner. Visit Noosa during the spring months from September to November for sunny days and warm temperatures.
