POINT OF INTEREST

Hopi Hari

Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, Moinho, Vinhedo, Southeast Brazil, 13288-390

With five zones and more than 35 rides and attractions suitable for all ages, Hopi Hari is one of Brazil’s most popular amusement parks. At the recently renovated park, visitors are welcomed into the fictional world of Hopi Hari, where each brightly colored “village” has its own theme, including a Wild West zone and a Looney Tunes area.

The Basics

Tickets grant access to all five zones—Kaminda Mundi, where attractions are inspired by European culture; Infantasia, where Looney Tunes characters are ready to entertain younger kids; Mistieri, filled with big thrill rides and adrenaline-fueled attractions; Justice League, where rides are inspired by Batman, Wonder Woman, and other DC comics superheroes; and the cowboy-themed Wild West. Highlights include a number of roller coasters, a rafting river, a SkyCoaster, Brazil’s largest Ferris wheel, and live theater shows.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • It’s worth buying your tickets in advance for the best prices; VIP wristbands allow you to skip the lines at busy times.

  • The park has a number of restaurants, cafés, and food kiosks, and drinking water fountains are available throughout.

  • Paid storage lockers are available on-site.

  • Some rides have height restrictions or require adult supervision.

  • The park is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, but some rides may not be.

How to Get There

Hopi Hari lies along the Bandeirantes Highway, between the cities of Itupeva and Vineyard, around 44 miles (70 kilometers) northwest of São Paulo, about a 1-hour drive. Buses run to nearby Vinhedo, from which you can take a taxi, or else there is paid parking at the park.

When to Get There

Hopi Hari is open from late morning to evening from Thursday to Sunday. The busiest time to visit is in summer (December to February), when the park can get crowded, particularly on weekends. Outside of peak season, be aware that some rides may be closed or open for only part of the day.

Brazil’s Theme Parks

Hopi Hari is one of a number of theme parks in Brazil. Nearby is the Wet ‘n’ Wild water park, which has extreme slides, wave pools, and fun activities for the whole family, while the Beach Park in Fortaleza is the largest water park. Latin America’s biggest theme park, Beto Carrero World, is located in Penha and has rides such as an inverted roller coaster and a free-fall. Other parks include the winter-themed Snowland in Gramado and the Hot Park in Rio Quente, which combines thermal pools with land- and water-based attractions.
