POINT OF INTEREST

LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort

Winkfield Rd., Windsor, England

Shiny colored bricks abound at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, a theme park with rides inspired by LEGO® and DUPLO. The first of its kind in the UK, the Windsor resort is popular with families, offering kids the chance to build, play, and experience rides, too. There are also themed hotels on-site for those who don’t want the fun to end.

The basics

LEGOLAND Windsor Resort has more than 55 rides and attractions spread around different themed lands. Kids can learn to pilot balloons made of LEGO bricks, escape from dragons, or ride dinosaurs made of DUPLO bricks. Toddlers and younger kids can build their creations with soft play bricks, and there are fun things to do for most ages.

There’s a huge range of tickets available, from basic admission to the Windsor Resort to combination tickets for short stays, dual-attraction passes that include LEGOLAND® Adventure Golf, and annual passes. In most cases, online booking is recommended for guaranteed entry in busier times and at cheaper prices.

Things to know before you go

  • LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is mostly cashless, meaning tickets and most purchases inside must be made by card or smartphone. Cash is needed for the on-site lockers.

  • The park is a must for families with kids between 3 and 12 years old.

  • Dedicate a whole day to this sizable theme park.

  • The site is accessible to people using wheelchairs and offers stroller rentals and parking—both for a fee.

  • There are on-site restaurants and cafés, although these mostly offer fast food and snacks. If you prefer healthier or cheaper food, the park allows packed lunches and picnics.

  • Water fountains are available around the resort, meaning you can bring your own bottles.

How to get there

LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is around 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) outside Windsor’s town center. You can drive from the B3022 road between Windsor and Ascot and then pay to park in the on-site car park. By public transit from London Paddington, take a train to Windsor and Eton Central. From the station, there are regular shuttle buses to the park.

When to get there

The theme park’s opening hours vary slightly throughout the year, but it is open most days from morning until late afternoon, from mid-March to early November. In the colder winter months, the park is open only on select weekends or for themed events around Halloween and Christmas during UK school vacations.

Indoor crazy golf

If you have more time to spend in Windsor or want something different than the standard theme park experience, check out the LEGOLAND Adventure Golf next door. The experience is indoors—ideal for rainy day fun—and offers different themed courses to master, such as swinging into space. Smaller clubs are available, making it easy for even the littlest kids to participate.
