As one of the most popular destinations in Rhodes, Lindos is included in many sightseeing tours. • Lindos is not suitable for wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility.

• There are many rooftop bars and restaurants with rooftops that offer great views over the village.

How to get there

Lindos is located on the east coast of Rhodes, around 30 miles (48 kilometers) from Rhodes Town and 34 miles (55 kilometers) from Rhodes Diagoras Airport. There are three parking areas just outside of the village. Taxis are also an easy option, and public buses connect Lindos with Rhodes Town, too. Many sightseeing tours, including tours by boat, include a stop at Lindos and provide transportation.

When to get there

Lindos is a popular destination over the summer. Visit in the early morning to beat the crowds, and the heat. For a more relaxed experience, visit in the late spring or early fall, when the weather is still warm and pleasant for strolling around and for visiting the area’s beaches.

The Acropolis of Lindo is a must-see

One of the most famous landmarks in Lindos and one of the most important historical sites on the island of Rhodes is the Acropolis of Lindos. Towering over the village of Lindos, parts of the site date back more than 2,500 years. Main highlights include the Doric Temple of Athena Lindia, the collonaded walkway, and the Byzantine chapel of St. John.
