Magic Planet Theme Park

The Basics

Located within the Kinfra Film and Video Park (an industrial area), Magic Planet is both an entertaining and educational place to spend a day when staying in the Thiruvananthapuram area of Kerala. Most travelers visit the park independently while visiting the region and spend a whole day here watching the various performances.

Things to Know Before You Go

• While the park is suitable and entertaining for all ages, it’s best for children 3 years old and up.

• Don’t miss the performance put on by kids with disabilities.

• Parts of the park are wheelchair-accessible.

• There are cafés and restaurants throughout the park, as well as drinking-water stations.

How to Get There

The Magic Planet Theme Park is easily accessible from other parts of Thiruvananthapuram. The easiest way to get there is by taxi or auto rickshaw. If traveling by private vehicle, parking is available at the Kinfra Film and Video Park main gate, and shuttle buses run between Kinfra and Magic Planet.

When to Get There

The park is open every day except Monday, from midmorning until late afternoon. It’s best to get there around opening time to enjoy all of the performances to the fullest. The park is especially busy with local visitors on weekends, so aim for a midweek visit if possible.

Visit the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo

Another fun, family-friendly attraction, the well-designed Thiruvananthapuram Zoo houses animals in settings that mimic their natural habitats, with as few barriers as possible. Highlights include the white tiger and ordinary tiger, rhinoceros, spotted deer, many different types of birds and, like many places in India, lots of peacocks. The zoo is located in central Thiruvananthapuram, within the Napier Museum compound.
