Mall of the Emirates
Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Barsha, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Smack dab in the heart of modern Dubai, the Mall of the Emirates is more than the city’s second-largest mall. The multilevel center, one of Dubai’s most popular destinations, draws visitors with a huge array of international stores and leisure attractions, from fashion outlets and restaurants to theaters and an indoor ski resort.
The Basics
Visitors roam the mall’s four levels to enjoy around 630 international outlets and 90 restaurants. Anchor stores include Harvey Nichols, a Carrefour hypermarket, and an Apple outlet, alongside fashion houses such as Chanel, Cartier, and Dolce & Gabbana. Other draws include a multiplex cinema, the Dubai Community Theatre, a Magic Planet children’s area, and Ski Dubai, an indoor ski resort with snow-laden runs and play zones. The mall also adjoins five hotels—testifying to its size and appeal.
The Mall of the Emirates appears on many half-day and full-day city tours. Visits include time to shop, take photos, or admire Ski Dubai’s slopes through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Other options include combination packages that pair a Dubai city tour with a ticket for Ski Dubai’s snow parks.
Things to Know Before You Go
The Mall of the Emirates attracts first-time visitors to Dubai, keen shoppers, and fun-seeking families.

The mall is wheelchair-accessible, and wheelchairs are available from its customer service desks.
How to Get There
The Mall of the Emirates is located on Interchange 4 of Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road, in the Al Barsha district. It’s easy to access: either via public bus or Dubai Metro’s red line to the mall’s own metro station, from which a covered walkway leads to the shops. Otherwise, take a taxi or one of the free shuttles that run from many of Dubai’s hotels.
When to Get There
The mall is open daily. Opening times for the shops and restaurants are 10am–10pm Sunday–Wednesday and 10am–12am Thursday–Saturday. The multiplex cinema is open 10am–1am daily, while Carrefour is open 9am–12am Saturday–Wednesday and 9am–1am Thursday and Friday.
Exploring Nearby Attractions
The Mall of the Emirates is a great base for branching out into other areas of modern Dubai. After shopping here, take Dubai Metro’s red line to Dubai Marina’s DAMAC station. Admire the marina’s yachts and towers, and then stroll to The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), a boulevard lined with sands, play areas, and restaurants.
