With its gigantic manmade lake, sandy beaches, and multiple swimming areas, Marina Park is a great place to cool off during Brazil’s notoriously hot summers. Water slides, boat cruises, and play areas offer fun for all ages, while swim-up bars and thermal pools ensure adults can relax too.
The Basics
Admission tickets to Marina Park offer access to all attractions, but advance booking allows you to skip the lines. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, enjoy slides such as Kamikaze, Dragon Free, and Freefall, or learn to surf in the wave pool. Or, if you’re visiting as a family, swim in the tropical pool, enjoy a game of water volleyball, or a soak in indoor thermal pools.
Things to Know Before You Go
On-site facilities include lockers and luggage storage, paid parking, free sunbeds and parasols, gift shops, and a food court.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
There are swimming areas and activities suitable for all ages, but some slides and activities have height restrictions.
The park and pools are wheelchair accessible, but not all of the activities are suitable for travelers with limited mobility.
How to Get There
Marina Park is located in Capão da Canoa, around 87 miles (140 kilometers) northeast of Porto Alegre. Buses run to the park from Torres and Tramandaí, or else it’s easy to take a taxi from any of the coastal hotels and resorts.
When to Get There
The park is open daily from 10am to 6pm from January through September—in December, Marina Park is only open from Tuesday to Sunday, and is closed over October and November.

With its white-sand beaches and lagoon, Capão da Canoa is a great destination for a day trip or weekend getaway from Porto Alegre.
