Morro Branco’s seaside cliffs appear strikingly red from a distance, but up close you can see they have a number of pink, cream, and beige hues that together form their distinctive overall color. These eroded sand cliffs, known as the Labyrinth, have served as a filming location in several productions.
The basics
Morro Branco makes for an easy day trip from Fortaleza. A typical tour includes round-trip transportation, a guided walk through the Labyrinth, and free time in the afternoon for riding a dune buggy through the shifting sand, sailing on a traditional jangada boat, or simply relaxing on the beach—one of the most colorful in Brazil. Some day trips combine a trio of beaches into one itinerary: Morro Bronco, Praia das Fontes, and Canoa Quebrada. This is a good option for travelers who’d like to get a feel for the geological diversity of the Brazilian coast.

How to get there
Morro Branco is about 1.5 hours from Fortaleza on Ceara's east coast. It’s possible to catch a bus to Beberibe and take a car from there, but it’s more convenient to join a guided tour from Fortaleza with included round-trip transportation.
When to get there
The best time to visit Morro Branco is during the dry months (August to December), as the rest of the year can get humid and rainy.
