Mt. Faber Park
109 Mount Faber Road, Singapore, 099203
Reached by cable car and affording views over Singapore Harbour and Sentosa Island, Mt Faber Park is one of Singapore’s oldest and most popular green spaces. The lush rainforest-clad hilltop is more than just a recreational area—it also offers hilltop dining, shopping, and entertainment.
The Basics
Ride the Singapore Cable Car between Sentosa Island and the top of Mount Faber, then hop off to explore the hilltop park. Follow the walking trails to spot birds and other wildlife in the rainforest; visit landmarks such as the Bell of Happiness, the Temasek Mural, and the Henderson Waves bridge; and admire views over Singapore’s Central Business District and harbour from Faber Point. For a memorable dining experience, book a table at one of the hilltop restaurants or even dine on-board the Singapore Cable Car, sipping champagne as you gaze out over the city.
Things to Know Before You Go
- Mt Faber Park is an idyllic spot for nature lovers and families; it’s also a romantic destination for a dinner date.
- Bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water if you plan to hike.
- The park has restrooms, picnic areas, and cafés. The Mt Faber Cable Car Station has two restaurants and a gift shop.
- The park and cable car are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
How to Get There
The easiest way to reach Mt Faber Park is by riding the Singapore Cable Car. From downtown Singapore, take the train to Harbourfront MRT station, from where it’s a short stroll over to the Singapore Cable Car Harbourfront Station. From there, it’s an about 10-minute cable car ride. It is also possible to hike up to the peak, an about an hour-long uphill walk.
When to Get There
The cable car runs daily from 8:45am to 10pm, or until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Head up to the park in daytime for the most impressive views and make an early start if you want to hike to avoid the hottest part of the day. Alternatively, an evening visit means you can enjoy the cable car’s night light show and enjoy dinner on the hilltop with a view of the glittering Singapore skyline.
Singapore Cable Car
Linking Sentosa Island to the mainland, the Singapore Cable Car has two lines—the Mount Faber Line and the Sentosa Line. While riding the cable car is an experience in itself, it’s also the gateway to some of Singapore’s most exciting attractions. Hop off at Imbiah or Merlion Station on the Sentosa Line, to visit Madame Tussauds, Sentosa Merlion, Universal Studios, and Kidzania; or continue to Siloso Station, where you can visit Siloso Beach, Fort Siloso, and Underwater World. On the Faber Line, discover Faber Park, hike over to the neighboring Telok Blangah Hill Park, or jump off at Harbourfront Station to shop and dine at the gigantic Harbourfront Centre Mall.
