The Museum of Vancouver in Vanier Park tells the story of the city and its surrounding areas. The museum’s collections cover a broad range of topics, including history, art, ethnography, archaeology, and natural history. The museum is divided into History Galleries (permanent exhibits) and Featured Galleries (temporary exhibits). Stop at highlights including an important ancestral village of the Musqueam First Nation, the 1960s and 1970s in Vancouver, and Neon Vancouver.

The museum is located in Vanier Park, about a 10-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. It’s easily accessible via City Transit (No. 2 or No. 32 bus), bike, hop-on hop-off bus, and False Creek Ferries. Paid parking is available.
The museum is open daily, with extended hours Thursday through Saturday. On the last Thursday of each month, admission is by donation after 5pm. Guided gallery tours of certain Featured Galleries are offered from time to time; check the museum website for a schedule.
The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is in the same domed building as the Museum of Vancouver. The kid-friendly educational center houses space-related exhibits, including interactive exhibits, live science demonstrations, planetarium shows, and nighttime viewings at the Gordon MacMillan Southam Observatory.
