Nago Pineapple Park
1195 Bimata, Nago, Japan, 905-0005
Pineapples are the protagonists of this quirky Okinawa park near Nago, which celebrates the islands’ beloved tropical fruit and gives visitors the chance to discover it in lots of different ways. Driverless vehicles on tracks, a dinosaur model park, and wacky photo points are among the kid-friendly highlights, while pineapple wine is up for grabs for the grown-ups.
The basics
The small site covers pineapple fields, a tropical garden, and a well-stocked gift shop where pineapple soap, wine, cake, and juice await, along with fresh and dried pineapple, of course. The admission ticket covers a ride through the park with audio commentary, giving you all the info on the spiky fruit that’s been cultivated in Okinawa for centuries.
Tickets can be purchased online or on the day at the entrance, making it a good alternative to the beach for a spontaneous family trip.
Things to know before you go

How to get there

Note that this last bus departs infrequently, so if the schedule isn’t lining up, take a taxi instead. By car, take the Okinawa Expressway toll road to Nago, then follow local roads to the park. The trip from Naha takes about 2 hours.
When to get there
The park is open daily from mid-morning to late afternoon. As it’s popular with families, you can expect it to be busier on the weekends and key holiday dates.
Okinawa Fruits Land
If the tropical fruit theme is a hit, you can keep it going with a visit to another nearby attraction. Okinawa Fruits Land offers a similarly fun, offbeat vibe to Nago Pineapple Park, with lots of appeal for families with younger kids. You can explore different areas such as a bird zone, butterfly zone, and fruit zone, following scavenger hunt–style routes around the park, and collecting fruit stamps along the way.
