Navarro Correas Winery
San Francisco del Monte 500, Godoy Cruz, Mendoza
One of the first wineries in South America, dating from the 18th century, Navarro Correas is ingrained in Argentinian history and culture. Hosts to Polo Argentina, sponsors of the Argentinian Open, and boasting vibrant bottle labels designed by Argentinian artists, the winery exudes cool from every angle. Inside, you’ll find a wine room, reception room, art gallery, and two tasting rooms. Navarro Correas produces red and whites, though it’s particularly well-known for its sparkling wines—unusual in an area famed for Malbec.
The basics
People come from all over the world for guided tours of the production facility and tastings of the reds, whites, and sparkling wines for which Navarro Correas is known. Navarro Correas is often featured on regional wine tours—a solid choice for both first-time visitors and seasoned oenophiles. Whether you book a guided tour or visit on your own, be sure to arrange transportation or pick a designated driver in advance.
Things to know before you go

- A free tour of the vineyards can be added to a tasting.
How to get there
Located in southeast Mendoza, this is a winery that it’s possible to reach by bus from the city center, ideal for those short on time. Booking a tour with a private driver is never a bad idea when you’re wine tasting, though! Many people also choose to visit the winery by bike due to its accessibility.
When to get there
There’s never a bad time to visit, but to stay on theme, go on September 7 for Winemaker’s Day. Temperatures in Mendoza are at their freshest during Argentinian winter (June–August), and the vines are at their least colorful. By October, they’re a vibrant green, and snow still lingers on the Andes.
Polo from Buenos Aires
Been inspired by all the vintage polo paraphernalia you’ve seen at Navarro Correas? One of Argentina’s most popular sports, it’s easy to book onto a tour to see a polo match near Buenos Aires. Played on horseback, two teams of four use wooden mallets to hit a ball and try to score more points than the opposing team. Many polo experiences include a barbecue—and more wine.
