POINT OF INTEREST

Nigloland

27 Rue de la Vallée du Landion, Dolancourt, Grand Est, 10200

Get your thrills at one of the most popular theme parks in France, Nigloland, which includes rides and entertainment options for visitors of all ages—from roller coasters to animal-themed kiddy rides to puppet shows featuring the theme park’s hedgehog mascot.

The Basics

Nigloland is divided into four themed villages: the Swiss Village, the Wonderful Village, the Canadian Village, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Village, each with its own selection of rides. While many require riders to be at least 3 feet (1 meter) tall, there are 27 rides for smaller kids. History buffs and families with young children won’t want to miss the 19th-century style carousel museum.

Prebook tickets to the park to avoid lines at the entrance; visitors staying at the park’s hotel can purchase special packages.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Nigloland is a must-visit for families coming to the Champagne region.

  • Dining options include snack bars and themed restaurants.

  • The park is wheelchair accessible, and stroller and wheelchair rentals are available.

  • On-site parking is free.

How to Get There

Nigloland is situated off the A5 freeway, just east of the medieval town of Troyes and west of Chaumont. If you’re coming by train, the nearest stations are Vendeuvre-sur-Barse and Bar-sur-Aube. Privately operated shuttle buses from Troyes station are available during the summer months; the journey takes just under an hour.

When to Get There

Nigloland is open from the first weekend of April through the first weekend of November, though hours vary depending on the day; check the park’s website in advance. The ticket office generally opens about 15 minutes before the park, but may close up to two hours before the park does, so it’s best to book tickets in advance to avoid lines and hassle.

Hotel des Pirates

For those wanting to spend a few days at the park, Nigloland offers its own accommodations, the Hotel des Pirates. In addition to rooms, this hotel includes a bar, a restaurant, and entertainment options for kids. Highlights include nightly magic shows, face painting, and balloon animals. Kids under 3 feet (1 meter) tall stay free.
