O’Sulloc Tea Museum
15 Sinhwayeoksa-ro, Seogwipo, South Korea, 63521
Surrounded by gloriously green rows of tea, the O’sulloc Tea Museum explores Jeju Island’s past and present through its tea cultivation. Inside the museum you can explore the fragrant Seogwang tea field, enjoy tasting sessions of tea-based cocktails and many leaf blends, and enrich your knowledge of the culture and production processes. You can also stock up on tea products and souvenirs in its on-site shop.
The basics
You don’t need to prebook admission tickets, unless you’d like to attend one of the special tea experiences—such as the private tour of the tea fields or tea ceremonies—which should be booked in advance on the museum’s website. O’sulloc Tea Museum is a popular stop on tours of west Jeju, which typically combine it with other nearby attractions such as Hyeopjae Beach, Suwolbong Peak, and Cheonjeyeon Falls.
Things to know before you go
The gift shop at O’sulloc Tea Museum is exceptionally well stocked—you can buy tea bags, tea sets, green tea-flavored food, and Innisfree skincare products.
You can enjoy a selection of tea and sweet treats from the café terrace, which overlooks the tea fields.
There is free Wi-Fi and public toilets at the center.
Paths are all accessible for both wheelchairs and strollers.
How to get there
O’sulloc Tea Museum is in Seogwipo on the western side of Jeju Island. The 151 bus runs from Jeju City to the museum and takes approximately an hour, depending on traffic. Be aware that most public transport has signage in Korean, which can make navigating difficult. The easiest way to reach the museum is via a tour, which typically will include travel.
When to get there
The museum is open every day from morning until early evening, year-round. The best time to visit Jeju is during the spring (March-May) or fall (September-November). Jeju summers see high humidity and increased rainfall, which can make for a wet experience if exploring the outdoor tea fields.
More things to do in west Jeju
O’sulloc Tea Museum isn’t the only cultural highlight on Jeju’s west side. It’s also home to the Teddy Bear Museum, which has hundreds of bears, including the world’s smallest teddy. Hallim Park is worth visiting to see the thousands of square meters of botanical gardens, where native and exotic flora thrive.
