Pinney's Beach
Nevis, Nevis
With more than 3 miles (5 kilometers) of golden sand fringed with palm trees and clear turquoise waters, Pinney’s Beach is a stretch of classic Caribbean coastline just outside Charlestown on the island of Nevis. Visitors come to swim, snorkel, sunbathe, and watch the world go by at one of the beach bars.
The Basics
Pinney’s Beach is among the most popular stretches of sand on Nevis. On the island’s west coast, the beach takes its name from the Pinney family estate, a successful sugar plantation that once ran alongside the beach. Nowadays, the area is home to upscale resorts, beach bars, and restaurants and is known for its lively nightlife. Visitors often stay at the beachside resorts or visit Pinney’s Beach on a day trip from neighboring St. Kitts.

All the beaches on the island of Nevis are open to the public.
You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas on-site.
There are several bars and restaurants at the beach.
Snorkelers can hope to see sea turtles, stingrays, and other colorful tropical fish.
How to Get There
You’ll find Pinney’s Beach just north of Charlestown, on the west coast of Nevis island. Many people visit the beach as part of a sailing or catamaran tour from St. Kitts, while those staying on the island can drive (there is ample parking), take a taxi, or walk from the nearby resorts.
When to Get There
Pinney’s Beach is open to the public year-round and is a popular sunset-watching spot. Daily temperatures hover around 80°F (27°C) throughout the year. The island of Nevis is busiest with travelers from December to April, while hurricane season runs from June to November, when heavy rain and high winds can be expected.
Horse Riding on St. Kitts and Nevis
If you’ve ever dreamed of galloping down the beach on horseback with the wind in your hair, St. Kitts and Nevis is the place to make that dream a reality. There are a number of equestrian centers across the two islands, and visitors can opt for trail rides venturing to the inland or sunset rides along the beach.
