POINT OF INTEREST

Senzo Mall

Hurghada 1, Hurghada, Egypt, 1961530

Home to about 85 shopping and food outlets, the Senzo Mall just south of Hurghada ranks as one of the largest malls on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Flanked by palm-fringed fountains and offering everything from major fashion retailers to a food court, this indoor mall is a popular shopping and lifestyle destination for both locals and tourists.

The basics

When you want a little time away from the beach, head for the Senzo Mall for shopping, dining and family-friendly attractions. Stroll the air-conditioned corridors to enjoy international fashion brands, as well as jewelry, homeware, and perfume shops; stock up with goodies at the duty-free and handicraft emporiums; and refuel at cafés, restaurants, and fast-food outlets. A hypermarket and kids’ entertainment arcade round out the experience.

As the mall is outside of town, most visitors go by cab or take the Senzo shuttle bus. You can also book a private, customizable Hurghada city or shopping tour that lets you add a mall visit to other stops, such as Hurghada Marina and the city’s traditional bazaars.

Things to know before you go

  • The Senzo Mall attracts shoppers, fashionistas, families, and anyone wanting a choice of international restaurants.

  • The mall is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

  • On-site amenities include ATMs, restrooms, parking, and free Wi-Fi.

  • Be prepared for security checks at the parking area and on mall entry.

How to get there

The Senzo Mall stands on the eastern side of the main roundabout junction linking Hurghada’s Safaga Road and the 65M highway, about a 25-minute drive south of the city center, and 15 minutes from Hurghada International Airport. The easiest ways to get there are by cab, Uber or Careem, or the Senzo shuttles that run from some Hurghada hotels and city-center locations.

When to get there

The Senzo Mall is open daily, with shops typically open from mid-morning to late night, with an hour’s break come early evening. Restaurants generally keep the same hours, but stay open without a break until late. It’s worth noting that these hours may change during Ramadan and public holidays. The busiest times are in the evenings, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, so come weekday mornings for a quieter experience.

Senzo Mall restaurants

There’s a wide choice of eateries at the Senzo Mall if you’d like to pair your shopping with a meal. You can choose among a number of coffee shops—Kafficho is popular for iced coffees—have frozen yogurt from Yoogo, or grab a bite at one of the fast-food chains. For a full meal, dig into nachos at Chili’s or tagines, steaks, or pizzas at Cordoba.
