The Deep

Tower Street, Hull, Yorkshire, HU1 4DP

Hull’s award-winning aquarium, The Deep, combines fun with learning through audiovisual presentations and interactive exhibits. You can marvel at tropical fish in the Lagoon of Light; watch sharks, turtles, and rays swim around the Endless Ocean; observe penguins in the Kingdom of Ice; and see jellyfish in the Cool Seas.

The Basics

You can also watch daily dive shows, ride the UK’s only underwater elevator, and explore several seperate aquariums, one of which is dedicated entirely to slime. With so much to see and do, don’t waste time waiting to purchase your admission ticket on the day. Instead, buy your ticket in advance for a discounted rate. Some city passes also provide access to The Deep, alongside several other family-friendly attractions in Hull.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • The Deep is a great family-friendly attraction for children of all ages; children under three enter for free.

  • Most visitors find that two or three hours is ample time to explore The Deep.

  • The Deep is both wheelchair and stroller accessible.

How to Get There

The Deep is within walking distance of Hull city center and Hull train station, from which The Deep is clearly signposted. For those who prefer to drive, navigate to Tower Street and from there follow signs for The Deep. Onsite car parking costs £3 for six hours.

When to Get There

The Deep is open daily from 10am to 6pm, except on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Last admission is at 5pm. To beat the crowds, avoid the peak 11am to 2pm period. School holidays are also especially busy at The Deep.
