XQ Historical Village
258 Duong Mai Anh Dao, Phuong 8, Thanh pho Da Lat, Lam Dong
XQ Historical Village is dedicated to the ancient Vietnamese art of embroidery. When you first glance at the artworks exhibited inside this cultural institution in Nha Trang, you might think they’re paintings—but look closer and see they’re intricate embroidery pieces. Plus, they’re set among a lovely, historic-style building laden.
The basics
You can see artists creating paintings over looms while visiting the XQ Historical Village. You can visit independently and take your time admiring the works depicting stories and scenery from Vietnam using silk. The art gallery sometimes features on sightseeing tours of Nha Trang, which typically combine it with the culinary hub of Dam Market, the hilltop Long Son Pagoda, and the Cham Towers, estimated to have been built during the 7th century.
Things to know before you go
Many artworks here are for sale; you can order online if you can't make it there in person.
There's a café at the museum where you can buy snacks and Vietnamese coffee.
The lower floors of the museum are accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, but some upper floors may not be.
How to get there
XQ Historical Village is on 258 Đường Mai Anh Đào in Da Lat in Central Vietnam. From the center of Da Lat, it’s a 10-minute drive via Đ. Trần Quốc Toản road. Public transport options are few and far between, so it’s best to use a rideshare app or take a tuk-tuk.
When to get there
XQ Historical Village is open from morning until mid-evening, except for public holidays. Central Vietnam’s lush, green landscapes result from year-round showers. However, the best time to visit Da Lat (for the highest chance of dry skies) is between December and March.
Where to see more artwork in Nha Trang
XQ Historical Village isn’t the only place in Nha Trang where you can admire Vietnamese art and crafts. The Long Thanh Photo Studio displays photography from the artist of the same name, contrasting the beauty of Vietnamese landscapes with the struggle some of its residents often feel. The photographer is often at the museum and offers free tours and explanations of his work.
