This grand hotel has managed to evolve over the years to incorporate contemporary tastes while maintaining its historic character. Guest bathrooms feature TVs and many rooms offer balconies. The classic main building, built in 1918, features unparalleled craftsmanship not found in newer hotels. Ornate hand-painted ceilings, crystal chandeliers and custom furnishings give the public areas a distinctive look and feel reminiscent of the Old World. The luscious grounds pop with color in the spring, summer and autumn. Even when the hotel is full, the spacious grounds rarely feel crowded. Guests may view swans and other water birds swimming across the lake as they stroll the grounds or swim in the infinity pool.
