The guest rooms at this hotel are built for comfort with a large desk, enhanced bedding, tasteful window treatments and USB ports at the nightstand. A float-plane dock is on site. The lobby is a step into wild Alaska including stunning indigenous game mounts. Black-and-white pictures throughout are a pictorial history of Anchorage. The pub is popular with the locals. The hotel is in a great location near the airport but easy to get downtown. Common areas were clean, as was the room. (Some attention is needed to weed out the older, stained towels, mixed with fluffy towels). Room was spacious, mattress was older but still very comfortable. I had great sleep when I was there. I suspect there were not many people staying on my floor, very few people walked by. There is a possibility the noise level would be higher with higher occupancy. They were working very diligently to try and clear the snow and ice out of the parking lot. Highly recommend the Flying Machine Restaurant!

Great clean room restaurants had excellent food and service and staff was 1st rate. Outside patio by the lake was beautiful
The hotel carpeting throughout was filthy with multiple stains. Our room’s bathroom had broken tub tiles and was not clean, we had to Clorox it ourselves to use. Upon arrival the desk clerk was not welcoming and acted as if it was a chore to assign rooms. We were put in the very back hallway and room and my husband has to walk with a cane. We were offered no assistance with luggage. For the rate paid, the value was nonexistent
