The Ellora caves, locally known as ‘Verul Leni’ are located about 18 miles north northwest of Aurangabad. Ellora is one of the largest rock-hewn monastery-temple cave complexes in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is world famous for the largest single monolithic excavation in the world, the great Kailasa (Cave 16).
