Overview
The Mexican peninsula of Yucatan is known for the longest underwater cave system in the world with more than 6,000 cenotes. Enjoy amazing underwater world of 3 most interesting cenotes in Mexico. Dos Ojos is one of the most interesting and beautiful cenote systems in Mexico. Thanks to its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites, you will have the impression that nature has been created over millions of years. The water is exceptionally clear thanks to the rainwater filtered through the limestone, and this cenote is incredibly clean because the limestone is very pure. In 2002, this underwater cave system was presented in the film “Journey into Amazing Caves”. The Pit is one of the most complex cenotes in Mexico. The entrance to the cenote is 10 metres in diameter and widens as it descends. At a depth of 25 to 32 metres, you will find a cloud of hydrogen sulphide. This is the deepest part of the Dos Ojos system. Rumour has it that the depth of this cenote is 120 metres.
