Half Day Chengdu Tofu Making Class with Mapo Tofu Cooking

Overview

During this 4-5 hour unique cooking workshop, you’ll be taken to an authentic local spice market, where you’ll explore and complete fun challenges while learning about the various types of Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the cooking class. The class will be held in a traditional Sichuan-style courtyard. As a local custom to welcome friends and visitors, you’ll be served Sichuan local tea. Afterward, a professional chef will guide you through the cooking process in a cozy kitchen. The chef will teach you how to make tofu from scratch using a stone mill. As a bonus, you’ll also learn how to make soy milk and tofu brain (a type of bean curd jelly) at the same time. This is a truly hands-on experience, as you’ll not only master the art of tofu-making but also practice cutting techniques and learn how to cook Mapo tofu. Finally, you’ll savor the dishes you’ve prepared, accompanied by beer or other beverages.
