Armed with lantern and halberd, he walks you through dark streets, explaining daily life as he knew it — plainly, humorously, and without academic lectures. This is true history, sometimes funny, sometimes bloody, always based on real events — no legends or ghost stories. The tour is led by a trained Nightwatchman who represents Prague in the European Nightwatchman Guild, a historical guild preserving authentic Nightwatchman traditions. Starting at the Powder Gate, the Nightwatchman leads you through the Old Town as it once was: a city shaped by class differences, strict laws, public punishments, wars, fires, and plague. Expect witty observations, blunt opinions, and uncomfortable truths.
