Overview
Note: If the track is closed DE veda to DE slides, other natural factors or safety reasons, the track may be partially or completely deviated to an alternative path. This path DA connects two of the highest peaks DA Madeira Island. It is DE a stunning route, which includes tunnels and some sections with steep DAs and descents, offering fabulous views over the central massive of the island. It is also possible to observe several birds, some of them exclusive DA Macaronesia, such as the canary DA-terra (Serinus canaria), the petinha-dos-campos (Anthus berthelottii madeirensis) and the andorinhão DA-serra (Apus unicolor). Near the Pico Ruivo shelter is the track PR 1.2, which leads to the Achada do Teixeira. Already in Acha DA do Teixeira you can see the basaltic rock formation known as “Man in Foot”, located in the descent after passing through the shelter of the Achada do Teixeira.
