With almost 40 million visitors a year, Las Vegas is a mecca for fun, no matter what that looks like for you and your family. Whether celebrity restaurants or decadent pools are calling your name, a weekend in Las Vegas is the perfect getaway for AAA members. With discounts on all your travel must-haves like flights, transportation and more, spending time in Las Vegas might be cheaper than you think.
Here’s a sample of what the perfect weekend in Las Vegas might look like.
Day 1, Friday: Hotel Check-in and Exploring the Strip
You arrive right on time to start the weekend. Get to your hotel as easily as Hertz offers discounts to AAA members on transportation.
Check-in: The STRAT Hotel, Casino and Skypod
As a AAA Diamond-designated hotel, you’ll love staying in the 1,149-foot needle-shaped tower that boasts a rollercoaster at the top plus a rotating restaurant with an unbeatable 360-degree view of the Las Vegas Strip. Relax in the heated outdoor pool and take advantage of the quieter atmosphere of the surrounding area. Get a quick workout in to set the tone for the rest of the day and get ready to head to some incredible restaurants.
Dine: Michael’s Gourmet Room
It’s time for dinner; as a AAA Four Diamond Restaurant, Michael’s Gourmet Room is the best of the best, with distinctive fine dining and upscale ambiance in an intimate, moody red dining room. You’ve got to try the famous shrimp scampi, Châteaubriand, imported Dover sole and amazing bananas foster.
Vegas offers endless dining options, with a whopping 335 restaurants on the Strip alone. Simply spin the wheel on what your palate desires that night and you’ll have tons of options at your fingertips. Just double-check you made a reservation.
Nightlife: The Bellagio Fountain Show
An iconic Vegas landmark, the famous Bellagio Hotel fountains are a stunning music, light and water show that captures the essence of a weekend in Vegas. The show runs every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. As you can imagine, it’s even more stunning to view at night.
You’re not going to want to head back to the hotel just yet. Nothing says “Vegas!” quite like the jaw-dropping and heart-pounding thrill of Cirque du Soleil, whose KÀ production tells the gripping (and eye-popping) story of royal twins wrestling with the namesake force representing a dualism of love and conflict. Grab tickets for a later show and enjoy the AAA members-only discount. Stunning martial arts, aerial gymnastics and acrobatics conclude your perfect first day in Vegas.
Day 2, Saturday
Dine: Buffet at the Luxor
A Vegas tradition, the Saturday morning buffets are the perfect way to kick off your first full day in the Las Vegas. These buffets aren’t your local, cheap food. Think crab and lobster, seafood towers, prime rib, sushi and any other cuisine you can think of. There are endless buffets to choose from, but one of our favorites is the Buffet at the Luxor. A 30-foot salad bar provides a lighter fare and a carving station is perfect for filling up before a busy day (and one sure to last well into the night, given this city's signature nonstop energy).
Shop: The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
Inspired by Grecian architecture and directly connected to the world-famous Caesars Palace casino-hotel, this multi-story shopping destination is among Las Vegas’ most recognizable landmarks and is sure to impress. Whether you're window shopping or searching for specific designer goods, you'll find high-end boutiques, luxury retailers and more waiting to be explored.
Head to Kumi Japanese Restaurant + Bar at Mandalay Bay for lunch. This stylish Japanese dining destination serves expertly crafted sushi, sashimi, and signature robata-grilled specialties, making it the perfect way to refuel for your afternoon.
Visit: Paris Hotel Casino and Caesars Race & Sportsbook Hall
After lunch, stroll the Paris hotel’s casino with 130 table games and 1,700 slot machines and maybe place a bet at the famous Caesars Race & Sportsbook Hall. View some horse races and lounge in the cozy recliners while watching the game of the day.
A weekend in Vegas isn’t complete without a dinner at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés. A groundbreaking dining experience, Bazaar Meat is a “celebration of the carnivorous” with inventive meat cuts like a whole suckling pig, “vaca vieja” and black Angus ribeye chuletón.
Nightlife: Blue Man Group
The Entertainment Capital of the World remains one of the premier places in the world to catch the iconic Blue Man Group, launched back in the late 1980s and still going strong. Your AAA membership can land you a discounted ticket to see this enigmatic, drum-driven performance group — not to mention any number of other top-tier Vegas shows.
Day 3, Sunday
Dine: Cosmopolitan’s Wicked Spoon Buffet
Before you head to the airport, Cosmopolitan’s Wicked Spoon Buffet has a sleek spread, mixing high-end delicacies with everyday favorites. It's the perfect pit stop to launch your final day in the desert funland.
Visit: Iconic “Welcome to Vegas” Sign
Sin City boasts one of the most iconic welcome signs of any metropolis in the country and there are certainly few better photo ops in town than the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada" facade. Originally erected in 1959, this kitschy, selfie-demanding landmark stands tall and proud close to the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.
Dine: HEXX Kitchen + Bar
Perfect for a quick bite of lunch, HEXX Kitchen + Bar is a café, chocolate lounge and candy store. Grab a coffee for the road or enjoy a hearty sandwich and appetizer.
Lastly, it's time to head to the airport. Use your AAA membership for discounted transportation to and from the Las Vegas Strip. Plus, you can get exclusive, members-only savings on flights as well. Enjoy the best Las Vegas shows with ticket discounts of up to 30%. A weekend in Vegas doesn’t have to break the bank.
