POINT OF INTEREST

Aquaventure World

Atlantis The Palm, Crescent Road, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The world’s biggest water park, Aquaventure World has something for thrill-seekers and young children alike. Part of the luxury Atlantis, The Palm hotel, the park offers more than 105 chutes, rides, and attractions, from the near-vertical Leap of Faith to coasters, a wave rider, splash pools, sea life experiences, and a private beach. Marine enthusiasts can combine their water park adventures with a visit to the Lost Chambers Aquarium.

The Basics

Aquaventure offers everything from daredevil flumes, such as the near-vertical Leap of Faith, to the world’s biggest waterslide, kids’ areas, pools, and a super-long zipline. Visitors can relax between rides at the beach, restaurants, and shops, and enjoy an optional range of marine encounters.

Choose a standard all-day admission ticket or combine your entry with a marine encounter—such as a shark safari or ray-feeding adventure—or admission to the Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis. Other options include city tour and park admission combos and ticket-and-transfer deals that include return transport to the park.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Aquaventure is a must for water- and thrill-loving families, couples, and groups.

  • Choose between multiple tickets, from all-day access to admission combined with experiences, such as ray feeding.

  • Life vests are supplied, but bring your own swimwear and towels.

  • Wear swimwear that’s respectful of local customs—see-through swimsuits, for instance, aren’t allowed.

  • Don’t bring selfie sticks—they’re not permitted on any rides.

  • Save time by prebooking tickets to avoid the often-long lines at the main ticket counter.

How to Get There

Aquaventure neighbors Atlantis, The Palm hotel, on the outer crescent of the Palm. Drive along Crescent Road and The Avenues, or hire a cab from the nearest metro station, the Mall of the Emirates. Alternatively, ride the monorail from Al Sufouh’s Gateway station, or book a tour that includes entry and round-trip transport from Dubai hotels.

When to Get There

Aquaventure is great for cooling off year-round. It’s busiest during Dubai’s peak November–April season, but whenever you visit, it’s sensible to arrive early to reduce waiting times. The park opens daily in the mid-morning and closes at sunset—usually sometime between the late afternoon and early evening.

Finding the Top Attractions at Aquaventure

Thrill-seekers should hotfoot it to Aquaventure’s high-speed slides. Plunge down the Leap of Faith into a tube surrounded by sharks, and hurtle through a trapdoor into a 75-foot (23-meter) slide on Poseidon’s Revenge. Find the Leap of Faith at the Tower of Neptune and Poseidon’s Revenge further on, at the Tower of Poseidon.

Ways to explore

For water park admission, you can choose either a single-day pass or a 7-day pass. These are best prebooked online to speed up entry at the gates. Standard passes grant access to all rides and feature various upgrade options for adding in-park experiences such as marine life encounters.

Tickets to the Lost Chambers Aquarium are separate but can be purchased at a discount for same-day admission. To make your whole experience super easy, consider one of the many ticket-and-transfer combos that include private or group round-trip road transportation (or return Palm Monorail tickets) to the park entrance.

Accessibility

The park is largely wheelchair- and stroller-friendly with wide pathways and accessible changing rooms. The park also supports guests with cognitive differences and offers sensory-friendly and quiet spaces.

Age limits

All ages are welcome, although access to select rides is limited to those taller than approximately 3.93 feet (1.2 meters). Visitors under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Address

Aquaventure neighbors Atlantis, The Palm on the outer crescent of Palm Jumeirah island. While it’s easily reachable by car, cab, and public transit, ticket-and-transfer combos that include return transportation from select Dubai locations are convenient alternatives to getting here.

Driving

If you’re traveling from central Dubai, take Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) and leave it via exit 34 signposted to Palm Jumeirah. Continue straight, then turn right on Crescent Road. Take another right at the roundabout. On-site parking is available.

Public transportation

Ride Dubai’s Metro Red Line to Al Fardan Exchange, then walk roughly 20 minutes to the Palm Monorail’s Palm Gateway station; from there, it is three stops to Aquaventure World.

Best times to visit

Arrive before opening time to beat the main crowds and longest ride lines. Going early also lets you hit the most popular rides before Dubai’s heat reaches its afternoon peak.

Best days to visit

Visit on weekdays—Mondays through Wednesdays are best—rather than weekends or public holidays, when crowds build up. Also, if you can, avoid the busy school holidays.

Best months to visit

The November–March period is considered a good time to visit the park, as temperatures are cooler and more comfortable than in the heat of Dubai’s summers.

Special events

Aquaventure often hosts summertime sunset events, rolling out everything from live DJs to exciting beach challenges alongside full evening access to its rides.
