Baiyoke Sky Tower
22 Ratchaprarop Road, Thanon Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok, Thailand, 10400
The Baiyoke Sky Tower is the second-tallest building in Bangkok. It houses a large hotel, viewing platform, restaurants and bars, shops, and a revolving deck. The sweeping views of Bangkok are impressive, especially at night, and will help you get your bearings in the Thai capital.
The Basics
At 85 stories high, Baiyoke Sky Tower is the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia. The building itself is 997 feet (304 meters) high, but with its antenna it measures 1,077 feet (328 meters). Visitors enjoy spectacular views from the 360-degree revolving observation deck on the 84th floor, a public observation deck on the 77th floor, a bar on the 83rd floor, and numerous elevated restaurants. Whether or not you stay at the Sky Hotel, the Sky Tower offers attractions for you to spend a few enjoyable hours.
Most travelers visit the Baiyoke Sky Tower independently, although a number of ticket packages are available. These include entrance to an observation deck along with hotel transfers, or a dinner package at the restaurant.
Things to Know Before You Go
There is an entry fee for the observation deck, or you can buy food and drinks while enjoying the view from the restaurants and bars.
Coin-operated telescopes are available at the viewing decks.
The Pratunam Market below is a good place to buy affordable and wholesale clothing.
How to Get There
The Baiyoke Sky Tower is in the Ratchathewi area of central Bangkok. It’s a short walk from Ratchaprarop station on the Airport Rail Link (ARL) line. It can be reached on foot from other parts of central Bangkok, or by taxi from slightly farther afield.
When to Get There
The views from the various viewing decks are especially good at night, when the lights of Bangkok sparkle. While opening times differ between the various attractions in the building, visitors can generally come from late morning until late evening.
Visit the Tallest Building in Bangkok
The Baiyoke Sky Tower is the second-tallest building in Bangkok, and the King Power MahaNakhon is the tallest. It’s a very striking building, as it looks somewhat like a tower made from kids’ blocks. It includes retail space, offices, hotels, and some of the most expensive real estate in the city. Plus, visitors can go to the rooftop observation deck.
