Bavaro Adventure Park
Boulevard Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, 23000
Bávaro Adventure Park is a sprawling outdoor amusement park in Punta Cana—a lush, idyllic space home to jungle flora and fauna and crystal-clear waters. Its 110 acres (44 hectares) are a one-stop shop for fun-filled outdoor pursuits, with numerous activities and installations available. Visitors can enjoy all-terrain-vehicle tours, ziplines, horseback riding, paintball, cenotes, and a natural river lined by limestone cliffs.
The Basics
Bavaro Adventure Park is spread over 110 acres (44 hectares) of lush surroundings, less than a mile from the Caribbean Sea, in Punta Cana—a place known for its idyllic beaches. The park is a one-stop-shop for fun-filled outdoor pursuits, and there are 15 activities to choose from; including extreme off-road Segway tours, paintballing, a ziplining course that finishes with a splash in the water, and an ATV tour to an abandoned mine.
Travelers typically visit the park as part of a package that combines multiple activities in a day—such as a buggy tour, horseback riding, and a visit to the waterfall pool. There’s an almost endless combination of activities to choose from, and the park’s close proximity to the sea means you can easily combine a trip to the park with seaside excursions—such as a catamaran cruise, snorkeling, parasailing, or a speedboat ride.
Things to Know Before You Go
The park has amples rest areas and a children’s playground. It’s recommended that you bring swimwear, sunblock, a hat, sunglasses, and a change of clothes with you.
There are hydration points across the park, as well as a restaurant.
Personal items must be kept in lockers when taking part in activities.
Travelers with limited mobility should contact the park before visiting for information on accessibility and assistance.
How to Get There
Bavaro Adventure Park is located on Boulevard Turístico del Este—which is situated between central Punta Cana and Playa Bavaro. Many tour packages include complimentary round-trip transfer services from Punta Cana, Bavaro, or Uvero Alto area hotels to the park. Alternatively, you can travel with ease by taxi.
When to Get There
The best time to travel to Bavaro is from December to April. This may be peak season—when there will be larger crowds—but the weather is drier than the rest of the year. From June to November, it’s hurricane season and heavy showers are common. As Bavaro Natural Park is an outdoor attraction, it's a wise choice to visit in months with low rainfall and low humidity. The park is open year-round.
Visiting Bavaro Beach
Bavaro Beach (Playa Bavaro) is the longest and arguably most beautiful beach in Punta Cana. It’s home to restaurants, beach clubs, and all-inclusive resorts, such as the popular adults-only Barceló Bávaro Beach. It’s also known for being the launchpad for snorkeling and catamaran cruise excursions. Bavaro Beach is split up into smaller beaches—if you’re not staying at a resort, Bibijagua, Corales, Cortecito, and Jellyfish beaches offer public access.
Ways to explore
There are plenty of ways to enjoy Bávaro Adventure Park. You can sign up for a single activity, such as an ATV tour or horseback ride, or book a package that offers multiple activities—including a combo underground Sacred River and zipline excursion—to make a full day of it. And because Bávaro Adventure Park is so close to the Caribbean Sea, it is really easy to combine your visit with a catamaran cruise, snorkeling or parasailing experience, or a speedboat ride.
Accessibility
Visitors with disabilities are welcome in the park, but it’s best to contact the park ahead of time to understand more, as certain attractions are accessible and others aren’t.
