Bodega Chandon
Ruta 15 Km 29, Agrelo, Mendoza, M5509
In 1959, the French Champagne house Moet & Chandon established its first overseas subsidiary, Bodega Chandon. Learn how it pioneered the production of sparkling wines in Argentina by combining traditional French savoir-faire with the diversity of Argentine high altitude terroirs on a visit and tasting.
The Basics
Enjoy guided tastings at Bodega Chandon, which take you through the different lines of bubbles, including blanc de blanc (white wine from white grapes) and blanc de noir (white wine from red grapes). You can also enjoy sparkling wine pairings in Bistro Chandon, where the chef prepares dishes specifically for the bubbles to be enjoyed to the fullest—it’s one of the only restaurants in Argentina to offer a 100 percent sparkling wine-paired menu.
A stop at Bodega Chandon is often included in guided wine tours of Mendoza, particularly those focused on sparkling wines. It’s also typically a stop on Mendoza hop-on hop-off wine tours by bus, which have the additional appeal of letting you explore at your own pace.
