Bogyoke Aung San Museum
25 Bo Gyoke Museum Lane, Yangon, Myanmar
Housed in the colonial-era house where General Aung San lived for just two years before his assassination on July 19, 1947, the Bogyoke Aung San Museum is dedicated to the life of the founder of modern Myanmar. Part of the Yangon City Heritage List, the museum displays furnishings, memorabilia, personal items, photos, videos, and speeches.
The basics
Visitors can explore the two-story museum on a self-guided tour. The ground floor contains most of the exhibits, including photos from Aung San’s youth and travels, handwritten notes, and other personal belongings, along with large posters on his life and work, and displays with his speeches. Several bedrooms, a library, and meeting room can be found on the second floor, and the general’s car is displayed outside. Visitors can also walk around the garden, which contains a bronze statue of the general.

The museum is ideal for those interested in Myanmar's history.
There’s a small entrance fee for the museum, which is free for students.
