Cacheuta Thermal Spa (Termas Cacheuta)

Ruta 82 Km 39, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, M5549

On the banks of the Mendoza River and surrounded by the rugged peaks of the Andes Mountains, the Cacheuta Thermal Spa (Termas Cacheuta) offers a picturesque setting for a spa retreat. Fed by natural hot springs, the spa features various thermal baths and hydrotherapy pools, along with mud baths, saunas, and spa treatments.

The Basics

Visitors can book a half- or full-day spa package at Cacheuta Thermal Spa (Termas Cacheuta), which includes access to the thermal, hydrotherapy, and mud pools, as well as the wet and dry saunas, located in natural caverns. Most full-day tours include round-trip transportation from Mendoza, as well as an asado (Argentine barbecue) buffet lunch at the spa restaurant. Massages and spa treatments are also available.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Rooms and treatments at the thermal spa are limited, so advance bookings are essential.

  • The thermal pool temperatures range from 82°F to 108°F (28°C to 42°C).

  • The minimum age is 14 years.

  • Showers, changing rooms, and locker facilities are provided—robes are available to hire.

  • Check into the spa hotel for a longer stay and to take advantage of hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding in the Andes.

How to Get There

Cacheuta Thermal Spa is located around 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Mendoza, about a 45-minute journey by car. Public buses and taxis run to the spa from Mendoza bus station, but most day packages include round-trip shuttle transfers with pickup and drop-off at Mendoza city hotels.

When to Get There

The spa is open daily, year-round. While the peak summer season (December-February) is the busiest time to visit—reservations at this time are essential—the thermal waters mean it’s also possible to swim in both the indoor and outdoor pools throughout winter.

Cacheuta Water Park

There are two different sites to visit at Cacheuta, both benefiting from the region’s natural hot springs. In addition to the private Cacheuta Thermal Spa, there is also Cacheuta Water Park (Parque de Agua) to the north. The water park is a public baths complex, open to all ages and popular with both local families and travelers. Entrance offers full access to the facilities, which include indoor and outdoor pools, thermal baths, and a lazy river.
