Cala de Sant Francesc

Passeig Bitácora, Blanes, Spain, 17300

Set along Costa Brava near the town of Blanes, Cala de Sant Francesc (also known as Cala Bona or Bona Cove) is a small but scenic cove with a golden sand beach and rocks and boulders of different sizes, surrounded by pine trees. With clean waters and amenities, Cala de San Francesc has consistently been awarded a Blue Flag.

The basics

Stretching for nearly 560 feet (170 meters), Cala de Francesc is an ideal place to spend a summer day, with plenty of activities available. Rent an umbrella or lounge chair, sunbathe, swim, snorkel, or explore the water on a rental pedal boat; kids will also enjoy playing on and around the different rock formations on the beach. Paths also lead from either end of the beach to sweeping views of the sea and Costa Brava.

How to get there

When to get there

Cala de Sant Francesc is most popular over the summer, especially with Blanes locals. Arrive early in the day to grab a spot, since the beach is not that large. For a quieter and less crowded experience, visit in April and May or September and October.
