Tours of Casa Gilardi are by appointment only as the house is inhabited; you can reserve your place using a form on the Casa Gilardi website. You’ll explore two of the house’s three floors and delve deeper into the architectural specifics, the history of the masterwork, and admire the bright and colorful interior. Casa Gilardi is on the edge of Bosque de Chapultepec, so it’s easy to combine a visit with sightseeing at the museum and castle inside the urban woodland.

Things to know before you go

• There is a fee for photography and pictures can only be taken on a phone camera for personal use.

• No food or drink is allowed inside Casa Gilardi.

• There is no storage service for visitors and you cannot enter with backpacks or large bags.

• There are no restroom facilities available to visitors within the property.

How to get there

The nearest metro stations to Casa Gilardi are Juanacatlán and Constituyentes—both are just under a 10-minute walk. Alternatively, take the 19G metrobus from Centro Historico, which stops about 5 minutes away.

When to get there

Guides need a minimum of 48 hours notice for tour bookings; email using the website as soon as you’d like to plan a visit, as tours aren’t always possible due to the schedule of the current residents. You’re advised to arrive five minutes before the start of your tour.
