CoCo Bongo Cancun
Kukulcan Boulevard 9.5, Cancun, Quintana Roo, 77500
CoCo Bongo in Cancun isn’t your typical nightclub with a DJ and a dance floor. Instead, the popular venue hosts energetic performances including acrobats, bands, and musical impersonators who belt out tunes by artists ranging from Rihanna to Elvis. This lively spot is ideal for anyone seeking a fun night out in Cancun.
The basics
This favorite nightlife franchise boasts three locations in the Caribbean—Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Punta Cana. Each location features a huge video screen and seating on multiple levels for viewing the productions. Expect festive touches like soap bubbles, balloons, confetti, and streamers, regardless of the season.
You’ll also find plenty of skip-the-line booking options, and some even include an open bar for groups. This can be advantageous to avoid long lines at the door and bar during busy times.
Things to know before you go
CoCo Bongo isn’t a traditional nightclub with a DJ, but you’ll find those nearby if you’re planning on a club crawl.
Wear comfortable shoes since you’ll likely be standing most of the night.
The venue can become extremely crowded, especially during peak times, so buy tickets early.
CoCo Bongo may not be the most wheelchair accessible venue.
How to get there
CoCo Bongo is located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. It’s just one block from the Caribbean Sea and within walking distance from most hotels and resorts. Taxis are also readily available in the area and bar-hopping tours typically include the venue on their routes. Keep in mind that most skip-the-line ticket options don’t include transportation.
When to get there
On the weekends and during high season (from December to April), lines to get into CoCo Bongo can be long. If you want to avoid the crowds, stop by on a weeknight. The venue opens in the evening and doesn’t close until the early hours of the morning, but the shows end a few hours earlier; however, you can stay and dance until closing. Some tickets will also give you access until half an hour before closing.
Nearby Carlos’n Charlie’s and Señor Frog’s
Two of Cancun’s other hot nightclubs—Carlos’n Charlie’s and Señor Frog’s—are located right next door to CoCo Bongo. They offer similar VIP service packages with skip-the-line access and open bars (think unlimited premium drinks and snacks besides hot dogs and fries).
That said, these spots don’t offer the range of performances like CoCo Bongo, but visitors can still expect plenty of fun vibes with a spring break–style atmosphere and funky cocktails to keep the party going all night long, or at least until the wee hours of the morning.
