Elafonisi Beach lies in the extreme southwest of Crete, around 45 miles (75 kilometers) southwest of Chania.

Driving

Even during off-peak seasons, parking close to the beach can be hard to come by. But if you must drive, take the E65 coastal highway west from Chania, then bear south onto the PEO90 and Eparchiaki Odos Kaloudianon-Chrisoskalitissas, which has signs for Elafonisi.

Public transportation

KTEL sometimes runs one daily bus from Chania to Elafonisi during the summer season, but it's easiest to arrive as part of a tour that includes transportation.

Best times to visit

Midweek, the beach is a slightly less crowded time than on the weekends.
