India's largest amusement park, Essel World offers all sorts of rides for both children and adults, ranging from cute and gentle to intense and thrilling. The park is spread out over 64 acres (26 hectares), which it shares with a neighboring waterpark, Water Kingdom.
The Basics
Park highlights include a tower ride that drops guests from 190 feet (58 meters) in the sky, a loop that reaches speeds of 62 mph (100kmph), and a variety of roller coasters. There are also almost as many food outlets as there are attractions, and they offer everything from sugarcane juice to street food; a couple even serve beer.

How to Get There
Essel World is located in the northern outskirts of Mumbai. To reach the park without a car, take a train to Borivali or Malad and then a rickshaw to Marve-Malad or Gorai-Borivali, respectively. Shuttle ferries leave from Gorai-Borivali every 15 minutes and from Marve-Malad every 30 minutes, though none run between 3pm and 6pm.
When to Get There
Essel World is open all year round from morning until evening. The best time to visit is from November through March, when temperatures, rainfall, and humidity are all a little lower than during the rest of the year. Sundays tend to be the park’s busiest days.
Water Kingdom
Essel World shares a site with a sister water park, Water Kingdom, and it’s possible to visit both in one day. Book a combination tickets that allows access to both parks, and after visiting Essel World, you can enjoy a huge wave pool, slides that range from gentle to intense, and even a fish pedicure spot.
