Fábrica La Aurora
Calz de La Aurora S/N, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, 37710
Fábrica La Aurora whirred out endless bolts of bright cloth for nearly 90 years. Today, this former textile mill is a complex of galleries, artist studios, and antique shops, where you’ll find artists from San Miguel de Allende and beyond who work in paint, sculpture, and textiles. There are also galleries with specialities that range from fine art to handicrafts, plus on-site restaurants and cafés.
The basics
Visiting Fábrica La Aurora is a highlight when exploring San Miguel de Allende and features as a stop on some tours of the city. Joining a tour is a great way to get your bearings in the sprawl of shops, but you may want to visit independently if you’d like to spend time browsing at your own pace. Many visitors enjoy a couple of hours of shopping and exploring the galleries, with a stop for coffee or a meal.

The site is accessible to both wheelchairs and strollers, with smooth concrete floors that are all on one level.

If you’re coming by car, you’ll find ample parking on-site in a lot facing the main entrance of the center.
When to get there
The arts complex is open every day, generally from 10am until 6pm, with a slightly earlier closing time on Sundays.
