Located in Gangnam, the 6-story museum houses an extensive private collection of some of the most popular—and some of the rarest—action figures and collectibles in the world.
The Basics
See over 1,000 figures, in model sizes ranging from small to life-size, over six floors organized by theme. Figures include those from popular movies, such asStar Wars andIndiana Jones; Japanese anime, such as Gundam and One Piece; and superheroes from franchises like Marvel and DC, such asIron Man andBatman. Don’t miss the Special Edition and Limited Edition exhibition room on the top floor, featuring some of the rarest collectible action figures in the world. The museum also includes a play area, games, photo zones, a café, and a gift shop.
Book your admission ticket ahead of time to guarantee your entry. Admission to the Figure Museum W is also included as part of some Seoul multiattraction sightseeing passes.
Things to Know Before You Go
Figure Museum W is ideal for families with children, anime fans, and toy and action figure collectors.
Don’t forget your camera, as there are plenty of photo opportunities.
Outside food and drink are not permitted inside the museum.
Parts of the museum are wheelchair- and stroller-accessible; they are not permitted inside certain exhibition halls.
How to Get There
The museum is located in Chungdam, in the Gangnam district. There is very limited parking available, so it’s best to take public transportation. Take the subway line 3 to Apgujeong Rodeo Street station (exit 4), or take bus 472 to Ilchi Art Hall in Gangnam.
When to Get There
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from late morning until evening, with extended hours on the last Wednesday of the month. The museum is closed on New Year’s Day, Lunar New Year, and Chuseok.
Highlights of the Museum
The most prized model at the Figure Museum W is a Gundam RX-93V, the only such model in the world. Other special items include the actual Batmobile used in the Tim Burton Batman movies, a model car adorned with real gems from Swarovski, and the leather jacket worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger inThe Terminator, now adorning a life-size model of the Terminator.
