The Basics

Riding FlowRider requires an additional fee beyond your Waterbom admission ticket. Choose between half-hour and hourly sessions on bodyboard or stand-up board, both of which come with an assistant to help you get your balance. As with other attractions and dining outlets inside the park, you can pay on-site using funds stored on your wristband. Alternatively, skip the lines by reserving a FlowRider session when you buy your Waterbom day pass online.

Things to Know Before You Go

• The FlowRider is a fun and safe alternative to Bali’s challenging surf—a great way for active young ones to find their balance.

• Kids must be at least 4 feet 3 inches (130 centimeters) tall to bodyboard and at least 4 feet 7 inches (140 centimeters) tall to stand-up ride.

• Women should wear a T-shirt or rash guard top over bikinis. The force of the water means wardrobe malfunctions are common.

• While Waterbom makes an effort to be accessible to travelers who use wheelchairs, FlowRider is not.

How to Get There

The FlowRider attraction is inside the Waterbom water park, in the heart of Bali’s most popular tourist district, Kuta. Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Kura-Kura tourist bus service stop either at the park or just down the road from it at Lippo Mall or Kuta Point Ardenia, with connections to Seminyak, Legian, Kuta, Jimbaran, and Nusa Dua. Many travelers opt to hire a driver or book a package that includes transfers.

When to Get There

Waterbom is open from morning until early evening seven days a week, and the FlowRider operates until shortly before closing. Try to avoid visiting Waterbom on weekends or Indonesian public holidays, when it’s a popular destination for expat, Balinese, and Indonesian families. Arrive early in the day to beat the lines during the Christmas and European summer high seasons.

Waves are one of Bali’s biggest attractions, and year-round surf draws riders from across the globe. But the board you ride at FlowRider Waterbom Bali is not a surfboard, and the hardest part about learning to surf is not staying upright but catching a wave. Ride the FlowRider for fun (and balance).
