POINT OF INTEREST

Forest Adventure

Bedok Reservoir Road, Singapore, 479244

Singapore’s most extensive treetop obstacle course, Forest Adventure offers three separate rope courses, with the longest zipline running almost 1,000 feet (300 meters) over a reservoir. All courses include training, helmets, and harnesses. While instructors are on the course at ground level, adult supervision is expected for younger children.

The basics

The Grand Course is the most advanced of Forest Adventure’s courses, with more than 40 crossings plus three ziplines. The minimum height requirement is 57 inches (145 centimeters), and children 12 or under must have a buddy 14 or older. The Junior Course has a minimum height requirement of 53 inches (135 centimeters), with more than 25 obstacles and two ziplines. (Under-10s must have a buddy aged at least 14 for this course.) The Kids Course, with more than 20 crossings and two ziplines, is designed for children aged 5–9 and at least 44 inches (110 centimeters) tall, and a buddy aged at least 14 is required for under-7s, although kids never ascend higher than arms’ reach.

Forest Adventure is popular, so it’s worth booking a timed slot online to ensure entry—and note that adults who are joining their kids on the courses need tickets too.

Things to know before you go

  • Forest Adventure is an excellent choice for families with kids.

  • Sports shoes are required—you’ll be refused entry if you’re not wearing sneakers.

  • There are lockers available on-site for a small fee.

  • Phones are only allowed on the course if secured in a closed pocket—waist pouches are forbidden. Phones must be set to airplane mode and used as cameras only.

  • Allow up to 2.5 hours for the Grand Course and up to an hour for the shorter courses.

How to get there

Forest Adventure sits in Bedok Reservoir Park, in southeastern Singapore, on the reservoir's shores. It’s a 5-minute walk from the Bedok Reservoir MRT station (Downtown Line), and the 5, 18, 21, 22, 28, 46, 59, 65, 67, 69, and 168 buses all stop nearby.

When to get there

Forest Adventure is open 9:30am–2pm on Mondays, 9:30am–6pm Tuesday to Friday, and 9:30am–6:30pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Last departures are a couple of hours before closing time, depending on your choice of course. Visit midweek rather than at weekends or public holidays if you can.

Singapore for thrill-seeking kids

For all its compact size, Singapore offers plenty of ways for kids to let off steam. Sentosa Island is home to the Adventure Cove water park, iFLY Singapore, a simulated skydiving adventure in a wind tunnel, and Mega Adventure, with Singapore’s longest zipline plus a treetop obstacle course. On the mainland, X-Park is a thrilling obstacle course part of the Bounce Singapore trampoline park.
