POINT OF INTEREST

Hidropark

Avinguda del Tucà, Port d'Alcudia, Majorca, 07400

Grab the gang and enjoy the fun of Hidropark, north Mallorca’s only water park. Sitting on the edges of Port d’Alcudia, this popular park offers slides and pools for all ages–although its attractions are perhaps better suited to young kids than daredevil teens. Add game arcades, restaurants, and sun terraces, and visitors can look forward to bucketfuls of fun.

The basics

Centered on two large play pools flanked by slides, Hidropark has plenty to keep the family happy. Adults and older kids will love the steep kamikaze, soft-track, race slides, and the rafting Sliderang. Younger kids, meanwhile, will adore the fountains, snake- and octopus-shaped slides, and tipping bucket at Children’s World. A wave pool, trampolines, mini-golf, food outlets, and paved and lawned relaxation zones complete the fun.

Visitors can buy same-day tickets–but not tickets for future days–at the Hidropark entrance. Alternatively, consider saving time, effort, and money by pre-booking your tickets at the park website, which sometimes offers discounts on online tickets.

Things to know before you go

  • Hidropark is ideal for fun-loving families, especially those with toddlers and pre- and early-teens.

  • Admission is free for children under 3.

  • Sunloungers and lockers can be rented for an extra cost.

  • Amenities include restrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, and free car parking.

How to get there

Hidropark sits in northern Port d’Alcudia, an approximate 10-minute drive from Alcudia, a roughly 45-minute drive from Palma along the Ma-13, and an approximate 20-minute car trip from Can Picafort via the Ma-12. #302 buses from Palma and #324 buses from Alcudia run to Pla del Pinar 2, about a 7-minute walk away, while other local buses stop at the ‘Magic’ roundabout about 5 minutes’ walk from the gates. Cabs are another relatively inexpensive option.

When to get there

Hidropark is open daily from May 1 to Oct. 30, usually from 10am–5pm, although it stays open till 6pm during July and August. However, it’s worth double-checking opening times, as they can vary. Crowds descend in July and August when longish lines can build at the bigger slides–consider arriving near opening time for a head start. If possible, visit on weekdays or in May, June, and September, when things are quieter.

Tips for visiting Hidropark

You can’t take food and drinks into Hidropark, but you can bring your own bottled water–provided it’s not in glass bottles. If you plan to visit in July and August, when the rides get crowded, consider buying a Fast Pass online or at the entrance to help you skip any long lines at the bigger slides.
