POINT OF INTEREST

IKONO Barcelona

385 Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, L’Eixample, Barcelona, Catalonia, 08015

IKONO Barcelona is an immersive experience created by international artists that offers a feast for the senses and some ultra-Instagrammable photo opportunities. The interactive museum space features a series of eclectic areas, including rooms equipped with ball pits, neon lights, mirrors, and other quirky features. It’s an ideal rainy-day activity in Barcelona for adults and is a popular choice for visiting families, too.

The basics

IKONO Barcelona is home to 10 different rooms, designed to make you feel like you’re visiting different worlds—most visitors spend around 45 minutes exploring the rooms and posing for pictures. Your admission grants you access to all of them; you can book tickets online in advance, which is particularly recommended during Barcelona’s peak summer season (June–August). There are also IKONO sites in Madrid, Rome, Copenhagen, Vienna, and Budapest.

Things to know before you go

  • Staff speak Spanish and English, and are available to take photos and guide you through the rooms.
  • IKONO Barcelona is not accessible to travelers using strollers and wheelchairs.
  • There’s space to store your luggage at the entrance.

How to get there

IKONO Barcelona is on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 385, in the central Eixample neighborhood. It’s a 5-minute walk from Pl. Espanya metro station, which is on the green L3 line.

When to get there

IKONO Barcelona is open from Monday through Sunday from morning until late at night. The last entry is one hour before closing. The entire attraction is air-conditioned, so it’s a good place to beat the summer heat during the scorching months of June, July, and August.

The highlights of the Eixample neighborhood

IKONO Barcelona isn’t the only artistic highlight of this central spot in Barcelona. Eixample is also home to Joan Miró Park, where you can admire some of the artist’s sculptures among towering palm trees, and Gaudi’s fantastical Casa Batlló.

Ways to explore

IKONO Barcelona features more than 10 themed rooms, each designed to make you feel like you’re visiting a different world—options range from a cyberpunk zone to a lantern sanctuary. Most visitors spend between 45 minutes and 1 hour exploring the rooms and posing for social media–friendly pictures.

Your admission grants you access to all the museum’s spaces. Book tickets online in advance to guarantee your entry, which is particularly recommended during Barcelona’s peak summer season. Because IKONO Barcelona is located in the Arenas de Barcelona shopping center, you can also enjoy a meal or shopping spree after visiting.
