Find masses of tropical blooms and lush foliage in this beautiful garden on the site of West Martello Tower, a military site built during the Civil War. Combining historic architecture with beautiful plants, the garden also has narrow paths that are perfect for a leisurely stroll away from Duval Street crowds.
The free-to-access garden is divided into a series of zones, including a perfume garden, cactus garden, orchid areas, butterfly garden, waterfall garden, and prehistoric garden. Key West Garden Club is an included stop on some guided tours of Key West, but visitors interested in a more in-depth look should consider docent-led tours of the site.

The Key West Garden Club is located at 1100 Atlantic Boulevard in Key West, close to Higgs Beach. Limited on-street parking is available nearby, and it’s also possible to reach the garden using public transit. The free Duval Loop bus stops at Flagler and Grinnell Streets, a 7-minute walk from the garden. If you’re exploring Key West on a trolley tour, get off at Stop #10, which is a 6-minute walk away.
Gardens are open year-round, with closures for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Volunteer-led tours are available by advance reservation. For a more hands-on experience, it’s possible to join the open volunteering hours, when local green thumbs tend to the plants.

After the Key West Garden Club, check out the Audubon House & Tropical Gardens, where orchids and bromeliads flourish among thick foliage.
