The LEGO® Discovery Center Boston turns the popular building blocks into a life-size playground. Perfect for families with young children, the themed destination is dedicated to the colorful blocks and features rides, attractions, and hands-on experiences including the chance to build a LEGO® car or a spaceship. There's also the DUPLO® park, which was developed specifically for visitors under the age of 5.

The basics

At LEGO® Discovery Center Boston, there are plenty of things to keep kids busy and entertained; highlights include the Kingdom Quest ride, interactive workshops with master builders, a virtual-reality racing experience, and miniature replicas of Boston’s landmarks, which were built using over 1.5 million bricks. Plus, browse an array of LEGO® products inside the on-site store — no entrance ticket is required to enter the shop. All-inclusive birthday party packages are also available for booking.

  • The center is accessible for visitors with disabilities as well as wheelchair users; some individual rides may be less accessible.

How to get there

LEGO® Discovery Center Boston is located in Somerville, Mass., just outside of Boston. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the city via I-93 North. There’s a public parking garage nearby. You can also take the Orange Line to the T stop at Assembly Row a few blocks away.

When to get there

LEGO® Discovery Center Boston is open Monday through Thursday from mid-morning to mid-evening; on Friday and Saturday, it stays open an hour later. On Sunday, it’s open from mid-morning until early evening. Generally, the Discovery Center is quietest after 2pm. The site also hosts adult nights when grown-ups are invited to play around; check the website for dates and tickets.
